3 days in Paris and 3 days in Nice...where to go?

Hello Everyone I will be in Paris and Nice for 3 days! I was wondering where everyones favorite places were! I am a young (22) Europe first-timer and am SO excited! We will be coming to Paris from Italy (not sure where) and leaving France (assuming Nice) and going to Dublin, Ireland. Thanks for you suggestions on places to go!

When in Nice take a day to grab a bus _ the station is near the old area of Nice and go to Monaco a day and take a small train ride around the city also do not miss the Cousteau Marine Museum. Bus is only 2-3 Euros one way. In Nice there are museums - read RS book on this area.

you'll have plenty to do in paris in 3 days. nice is very cool as well - you can take 1 day to ride the bus to a couple of hill top villeges, and 2nd day train to monaco. the train line passes through many little towns on the coast you can stop by any of them and walk around (many suggestions on this website). the nice beach walk was ok, but not as cool as exploring little villeges - they have better beaches to say the least. antebles is probably the biggest with picasso museum if you're into that.

I recommend walking around the Eiffel Tower at night. It is magical.

Some of my favorite things I did in Nice ....rent a bike and ride along the promenade, the cours saleya market in old town, La Bodeguita del Havana for mojitos and a fun party. And then so many good day trips from Nice. My favorites: Antibes, Villefranche and Eze (including the hike down the Nietzche path to Eze sur Mer). Also nice are Grasse (perfume factories) and St Paul de Vence (medieval village with lots of art). Happy travels

My favorite place in Paris is Place des Vosges, my favorite place in Nice is the old town and Cimiez olive tree garden. But of course, there are so many other places, the list would be endless! Maybe you should look at RS guides and draw up a shortlist of what seems to be of interest to YOU best, and then ask in the forum if anyone has comments on those places? just a suggestion...

I was in Nice recently. I stayed at Hotel Durante near the train station and took an all-day tour of French villages. The tour was with med-tour.com and included a stop in Grasse at the Fragonard perfumery. We also stopped in Cannes, Antibes, and several high-up mountain villages.

The tour was excellent as was the hotel. It's in a quiet cul-de-sac two minutes' walk from the train station and walkable to almost everywhere. The new tram line has improved Nice since my last visit. I also took the time to walk to the Russian Cathedral. It is ornate and a beautiful contrast to the rest of France.

Ditto to the ET at night. If your with another, get a bottle of Champagne and hang on the lawn at night enjoying the bottle while the towere "shimmers". Pretty cool. Buy the bottle on the way, there are guys selling them on the lawn, but they mark them way up.
If the weather is nice, head to Versailles and it's gardens (great picnic opportunities) and especially Domaine de Marie Antoinette in the Petit Trianon. With only 3 days in Paris though, you might want to spend them all in the city (Notre Dame, Louvre[3 day potential here alone], d'Orsay, San Chapelle [best Stained Glass and color that I've ever seen], markets, cafes...) This list goes on forever. Have fun.
