I fly into Dusseldorf arriving at 7:45 AM Wednesday, 8 May. I need to be in Belgrade by Friday night the 10th...and I need to schedule an appointment in Munich either late Thursday or on Friday. I've looked at the website for the train from Munich to Belgrade and although a LONG trip (which would take the full day Friday), it sounds very scenic. Alternately I could fly and take better advantage of the short time I have in Germany. I return to Dusseldorf on Sunday morning the 26th of May and don't leave until the next afternoon, so I would have time to see that area on the return. I'd be interested in any suggestions on how best to spend the days I have in Germany...most of Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Thanks for your help!
I have took a day trip to Cologne (Koln) and I enjoyed it; short train ride from Dusseldorf airport. If you go...go up the stairs of the cathedral...amazing views!
Have a great trip!!
Not sure if I'm reading your message correctly, you need help on Wed., Thursday, and Friday ; I'm gathering you already have plans on what to see and do in Dusseldorf. If not, be sure to go by/near what I call the Wharf area, plenty to see and do.
Hi, Do you want to see Berlin instead of Munich? If so, you could fly from Düsseldorf or Köln to Berlin. I don't know from which city the flights are more numerous. Or, if it's Munich you're going to, flying is also an option. I myself much raher take the train but since your time is so limited, getting to Munich by air might be better. There is also the CNL night train option Düsseldorf-Munich which you take on 8 May, the day of your arrival in Düsseldorf. During the day store your luggage in the coin lockers at Düsseldorf Hbf. I've done the route on the ICE by day.
