I am flying into Rome at the end of March for 2weeks. I wanted to visit other places. (in France, Germany, etc) Was wondering about best route with best places to visit starting in Rome ending in Northern Italy. Any advise?

We need more details. How many days on the ground, not counting the flying in and flying out days. How will you be traveling: train, car?

What Kent said. Also, if you really want to visit another country, you'll save time and money by flying home from there rather than Italy.
