We would like to plan a river cruise to see the Christmas markets. My mom, sister and I will be traveling together and would need a triple room since we do not want to pay for a single supplement. Does anyone know of a cruise that offers the triple room?

We did a summer river cruise with them a few years ago and loved it. We were 2 adults and two 20ish daughters. While our boat did not have triple abilities, I know they have some boats with suites. They also are releasing a new boat this year, the "River Beatrice" which definitely has some larger rooms/suites. I also know this boat is scheduled for the Danube Holiday Markets this year. Probably pricey, but would accomplish what you want, and probably a beautiful room on a newer boat!

If you don't get an answer here, call the cruise line and ask if they can place a single bed into your double room. On some cruise lines the room may be large enough to accomplish this.

Nancy: I have taken Vantage Tours Christmas Market River cruise twice and loved the whole experience. Rumor has it that they will be offering trips without the singles supplement in the near future. In the meantime, Grand Circle has done away with some of their single supplements, so check out their web site. My hunch is that with the current economy, we may see more bargains as the year progresses. Most cabins are so small that an extra cot would be questionable, but some of the larger cabins (read...more $$$) might be doable.
