We are planning a Spain (Nerja)/France (Paris) trip early spring 2008. Am researching fastest/easiet way from Nerja to Paris. Found expensive flight with Iberian; Ryan Air and EasyJet don't seem to fly (will fly out of Malaga). Considering driving to Madrid to then fly to Paris. What is the leisurely driving time from Malaga to Madrid? Just have two weeks, and have arranged a villa in Nerja, an apartment in Paris. Any ideas?
I applaud your advance planning...a woman after my own heart. But a year in advance, you won't find many deals yet. Don't rule out Iberia...we're flying Paris-Malaga return later this month, and good a good deal, and we booked in early December. That's about when the discount carriers start coming on stream with their schedules....you can start checking in October. You may want to fly vueling from Malaga to Madrid, then vueling or Easyjet Madrid-Paris. Driving is an option if you don't mind the long haul. It's more than five hours (more than 500 kilometers or 300 miles), and requires you beat your away all around the south and east side of Madrid to get to the airport. The expressways are fairly good around Madrid, if you avoid rush hours.
To Norm concerning travel from Malaga to Madrid; I think the train is the way to go. Do you know where the train station is, in comparison to the airport? RyanAir seemed to have the lowest fare from Madrid to Paris- will their fares increase closer to the day of travel? As for the train from Malaga to Madrid: do we need to purchase tickets ahead of time, from home or wait until we arrive in Malaga? I may just email you directly, rather than using up Rick's website!
