Has anyone been to Bratislava? Is it worth going to? I am going to be in Vienna and didn't know if this was a good place to go as well. Thanks.

We spent a day in Bratislava while on the Viking River Cruise. I suggest you use your time in another city. Not much of interest to me there.

Yes and yes. Spent 10 days in the Slovak Republic and two weekends in Bratislava during that time. It is for sure worth a day in the old town and easily reached from Vienna. A bus from Vienna will get you there in no time and you can walk around the old town which has been refurbished beautifully since the 'velvet revolution'. A day will be enough unless you want to head to the country; very beautiful in the mountains beyond Banska Bistrica. Do a bit of research about the city before you travel. The castle overlooking the Danube is itself worth a visit as is the museum in the old Jewish quarter which was largely destroyed when they built the new 'Star Trek' looking bridge over the river. Vienna and Bratislava are two places so different and yet so close.
