I am thinking about renting a place just east of the port in Nice and wondering if that location will be too far out of the way for most attractions. I like Place Massena and the old town. Would like to walk to those areas. Is this not a good area to stay? Thanks. Debbie

I stayed at the All Seasons Nice Port between Place Garibaldi and the Port (so west of the port) and found it the perfect walking distance, plus it was easy access to everywhere by bus with the Gare Routiere so close. A few more blocks of walking would've been fine, too; I guess it just depends how far away "east of the port" is.
