We are departing from Zurich on May 7that 9:20 am and need a hotel for May 6th. Had not really thought about adding a night but could do. We go from Paris(4-5days) to Nancy(2) to Italy-locations yet to be determined Venice, Como area??)and have to get back to Zurich for departure. Any brilliant ideas anybody??

If you mean you're looking for a great hotel, close to the train station, clean, affordable in expensive Zurich, and includes breakfast - then you must be talking about the Pension St. Josef.
I just stayed there this past June, and it is a very nice place in a good location. The breakfast was large with lots of variety. Zurich is one of the most expensive cities in the world so finding this place was a real blessing!

I was shocked to find Zurich more expensive than Paris. anybody with ideas on where to stay in central Venice that airey and clean??
