We have a list of cities we would like to hit on our 3 1/2 week tour of europe: Barcelona, Paris, Munich, Florence, Venice, Milan. we figured a few days in each place while also taking side trips to smaller towns and whatnot. Do you guys recommend any side towns or cities that may be better we are young and adventurous but not too into the party scene. How can we get the best out of these cities? Should we fly out of Dusseldorf, Germany or Milan, Italy?

Definitely plan a visit to Salzburg, Austria from Munich.
And why not fly out of Munich?
Is there a special reason for Düsseldorf?

Brian, it seems to me that Germany is in the middle of the itinerary. I would suggest an open jaw ticket, flying into either Barcelona or Paris and back from Florence. Or reverse the order. Barcelona/Paris/Munich/Milan/Venice/Florence or the reverse. Not sure whether Barcelona/Paris/Munich is better than Paris/Barcelona/Munich.
