lodging in amsterdam

We end a cruise in Rotterdam and plan to stay one night before our flight in Amsterdam. Any suggestions of a place to stay in the canal area? We will arrive on a Saturday night for one night. Many seem to have 2-3 night minimum stays on the weekends.

Help??

The airport is only 20 minutes from downtown so an effecent airport hotel might work and no luggage to haul .

You could also maybe try Harlaam? We stayed in Amsterdam on our trip, but it may be a bit cheaper and without the 2 night minimum there? Perhaps someone who stayed in Harlaam will respond. Just throwing out ideas!

We are going to be in Amsterdam only one night, a Friday, and we are staying at the Hotel Brouward. It is a canal house and is in Rick's book. The price is not terrible, compared to most of what I found in Amsterdam.

We have stayed at the Hotel Fita, Wiechmann,Ambassade, and the Brouwer. All are very nice... . Do not miss staying in Amsterdam.. the airport is not the same.

This spring in Amsterdam we stayed at Boogaard's B and B for 100 Euro per night. It was very nice with a sumptuous breakfast, a short walk from the train station and thus within the canal zone. It is located on a quiet street a minute's walk from a canal. You can check it out on Tripadvisor-that's how we found it. We will return to this B and B on our next trip. I don't know whether there are minimum stay requirements.
