No S-Bahn service to Frankfurt Airport from July 9-29, 2007

Good information. Thank you, Andreas. But this won't affect the IC trains that leave from the Flughafen and go elsewhere (other than Frankfurt), will it?

Long-distance trains such as IC and ICE stop at a different train station at Frankfurt airport and are therefore not affected by the S-Bahn track closure.

Note that the S-bahn will still run from Rüsselsheim to Mainz and Wiesbaden and from Frankfurt Stadion and Niederrad to the Hbf.

There will also be a connecting S-bahn shuttle every half hour from Rüsselsheim to Niederrad (not Stadion) through the Fernbahnhof as well as a shuttle bus between Rüsselsheim and the airport busbahnhof.

I hope this means they are going to fix the mess in the regional bahnhof. Right now S-bahns and regional trains leave for Frankfurt Hbf (Hoch or Tief) on adjacent tracks (1 and 2). These tracks are served by separate platforms. How nice it would be if they were served by the same platform, so someone could just stand on one platform and catch the next train to the Hbf, regardless of which track.

I will be traveling from the airport, Frankfurt Regionalbahn Station ,July 5th with three teenagers heading toward Bacharach. Will I encounter any difficulties? Thank you!

Since July 5th comes before July 9th you shouldn't be affected yet.

Thank you for the information. We were planning to take the train from Bacharach to the Frankfurt airport during this time. We're not familiar enough with the trains into the airport to know if this closure will affect our plans. Do you know if it will? Thanks!

Check your connection from Bacharach to Frankfurt Flughafen (airport) on www.bahn.de (select International Guests from the top menue). Some of the trains from Mainz and Wiesbaden stop at the airport's high speed train station during that time.
