Our group of 5 adults (2 couples, 1 single) will be driving from Nurburg to the Verdun area on September 30, so that we can spend a whole day touring WWI sites on October 1. I'm finding that some of the hotels in that area have very limited availability for those dates. Our preference would be to book 3 rooms for the 2 nights at a hotel with a restaurant, or one very near by, to simplify having dinner after a couple of long days. The price range for the ones I've found, $80 / 64 euros or a bit higher, are in our budget. Do you have any comment / suggestion regarding the limited availability? And/or suggestions for our lodgings?
Yes! We were just in the area a few weeks ago. We visited Verdun on our way to St. Mihiel. We stayed here: http://www.larenommiere.fr/ Their email is: [email protected]
Such a lovely home, just a few rooms. Fantastic dinner on their back patio. Cheapest thing in the area. NONE of the Verdun hotels are decent. DO not stay there. Other 'Gites de France' are well recommended around there as well.
