2 ights in Paris w/kids ages: 8 and 5

I am traveling to Paris this week via ICE train from Frankfurt for a 2 night stay (3 days of sights) with my 2 children. I would like a recommendation for a hotel that is central. Also, any tips on must sees? I am thinking Eiffel Tower, Luxembourg Garden, Notre Dame, Seine cruise and maybe Versailles. We are on Holiday for a month total, and this side trip just came up. I don't think we will do the Louvre or Orsay, next time when they are older. But they are great travellers!
Thank you!

Don't miss the playground in the Luxembourg Gardens, your kids will love it. There's also a carousel, puppet shows, bathrooms, and a cafe for lunch.

Kristen - I have not stayed here, but a friend did with his family and he said it met his needs quite well. Hotel Marignan has a triple room for 120€ and a quad room for 140€. Here is the link to their web site. www.hotel-marignan.com.

Have you thought about a day at DisneyParis? I'm thinking at their age they might like that more than Versailles.

try the Tuileries Gardens- right outside the louvre. There is a small carousel, also a boating pond for model boats. I am older than your children, but i always enjoy splashing arround in the fountains on place d Concorde (great on a hot and humid day). And if its cold- hot chestnuts. Pompidou Centre has some interesting modern sculptures (mobiles, fountains) ouside and the colored escalators up the outside of the building are fascrnating as well. Montmartre steps and funicular For adults, my new favorite place is St Chappelle and its gorgeous stained glass windows
