2 Germany/Austria/Czech/Hangary Options

We are looking at either the Trafalar Sound of Music Tour or Imperial Europe. Departure date in 5/19/13. We like the Sound of Music tour as it travels less miles than Imperial Europe which allows more time at the destinations. That trip is: 1 nights Munich 2 nights Innsbruck 2 nights Salzburg 3 nights Vienna To date, the May 9th departure is not guaranteed, The Imperial Europe Tour is double the miles traveled but includes Prague & Budapest. That Trip is: 1 night Munich 2 nights Prague 2 nights Budapest 2 nights Vienna 1 night Salzburg 1 night Munich Presently, the May 9 departure of the Imperial Europe is a guaranteed departure. I love landscape photography, history, food, churches and "old" buildings. I don't like the bus time or the 3 one night stays on teh Imperial Europe Tour,
however adding Prague and budapest while seeing most of the sights on the Sound of Music Tour is an interesting alternative. Especially with the guaranteed departure. Comments/suggestons welcomed (and yes I want a Trafalgar Tour -past discount + 10% if you pay before 12/31/12). Thanks all!

Remember this is all about personal interests and taste and style and as such there is no right or wrong answeer. There is a post in the General Europe section where many have given some insight into who they are. You might check that against some of the answers you get. Of you list I have only been to Prague, Budapest and Vienna. Each interesting in its own right but of the three I enjoy Budapest the most. I was so turned off by the people in Vienna that I really havent developed a desire to see anything else in Austria (although i did make a day trop from Budapest to Melk once and it was well worth the trip). Dont misunderstand the people in Vienna were very polite, not rude at all. I just never got comfortable with them. The Czech's were great but Prague is its own kind of Disney Land complete with crowds. Cesky Krumlov inbetween the bus tours on the otherhand was pretty wonderful. Specific to your two options. I guess if I had to do one of them it would be the first one only because you will have less time in a bus. Could you stay on after the tour. It ends in Vienna (I assume) and Budapest is just a few hours away by direct train. Then fly home from Budapest after a few days. Train is about 30 euro and accomodations are as little as 50 euro a night.
