2 days in Barcelona

I'm going to Barcelona next week for 2 days, and I want to see all of Gaudi's work plus the big market-but I'm wondering what else would be good to visit while I'm there. I'm quite happy to spend some time just sitting and watching the world go by- any suggestions for good places to do that?

From the Paral-lel Metro stop take the funicular (use a ticket from your T10 card) up to Montjuic. Great city views and we really enjoyed the Joan Miro modern art museum. Afterwards we took the cable car down to the port and found a great cafe with outdoor seating to watch the world go by. Then we headed over to the beach for more people watching. We really enjoyed our day.

We also spent alot of time wandering in the Barri Gotic and sitting in the plaza in by the Barcelona Cathedral.

We were there late last May and the temps. were mid-60's and sunny during the day. Very pleasant.

My husband and I did the hop off/hop on bus. Upstairs you get a great birdseye view of the city and Gaudi's work around the city. Plus, you get to hop off at the sites you want to see, and hop back on when you are done.

I agree with the HOHO bus. I've posted a Gaudi works walking tour here: http://quia-absurdum.com/barcelona/gaudi_route.html
I'm also a big fan of the local markets (Boqueria off of the Ramblas) or Sta. Catalina (next to metro Urquinaona). The Parc de la Ciutadella is the big park where people go to stroll and enjoy some fresh air. If you read Ildefonso Falcones’fabulous book Cathedral of the Sea before your trip you'll enjoy seeing the church as you stroll through the Born neighborhood.
