I am staying in Paris for 3 nights before moving on (taking an overnight train). However, if I check out of a hostel at 11 or 12 noon, and my train is at 11:00 at night, where can I put my baggage for the day so I don't have to haul it with me in Paris for the whole day until my train. Any ideas? Lockers at the train station?

Usually Hostels/Hotels offer a luggage room where you can keep luggage even after your stay. Inquire about this upon arrival to see if there are any fees incurred by leaving your bags after check-out. Otherwise your best bet is likely the train station although those lockers may not be adequate to suit your needs.
