We (two adults and one 14 year old) are staying in zurich for one night (july 24th). This will be our last night in europe, so we would like to get a little bit more sight seeing in bfore we leave. What is the best area of zurich to sight see, and does anyone know a good hotel (3 star) in zurich?

Zurich is a nice city but doesn't have many tourist attractions. Everything is in the city center, easily walkable from the main train station. The most popular attraction would be the Zoo, which reached by tram from the city center.

We like the Pension St. Josef. A sunset boat ride on the lake is a nice ending to a trip.

From my experience Zurich was all about efficient functionality. Finances and designer shopping. The one thing I really did enjoy seeing was the Chagall stained glass in the church. It was such a contrast to all the stained glass in the English Churches.
