I am connecting through London on my way home from Vienna. I have an 8 hour over-night layover so I'm looking for a cheap hotel that is near the airport. Please give me some suggestions!

There is an Ibis hotel nearby that offers a shuttle service to the airport. Or if you only want to sleep a few hours, you could stay at the Yotel in Heathrow.

A friend told me that Yotel was a very good choice. Of course it's just for sleeping, but done in a pretty nice way.
Ther's one in Heathrow and another in Gatwik.. and I think you can book them on a hourly basis.
