hi,i plan to do visit other areas as i've been to paris city already. my plan is less museums,love food n wine,countrystay - beautiful scenery, beach not necessary,heard that Bastia is beautiful?..avignon or et? i will be travelling alone,and on budget. anyone can help with ideas? tks

You mention Bastia, which is on the island of Corsica, and also mention you're on a budget. My understanding is that Corsica is not a budget travel destination--that it's a place where French people with money vacation (I have not been to Corsica and could be wrong). With you being on a budget, you probably want to go somewhere where your money will go further?Here's a prior discussion of Corsica: CorsicaYou also mentioned Avignon, it's in Provence and the Provence region is probably a good place for you to consider. However, you mentioned countryside and to get sleep in the French countryside, in Provence or another region, you will need to rent a car or, if that's not feasible, go on day tours but return to towns with train stations at night.

since i am flying direct to paris arrival at night, i hv another 2 full days only before flying home.as my goal is to see a different side of paris for that 2 days. it cld be a day tour an overnight trip. loire valley? avignon?provence? to save time of tavelling eventhough by train,i prefer a short distance. where is better?
