I'm travelling tomorrow from Munich Airport to Regensburg. I see I have to take a bus from the airport to Freising then take the train from there. Does the Bayern ticket also cover the bus or is there a separate fee for this?

A Bayern-Ticket will cover all transportation in the Munich metro district (MVV), including the bus from MUC to Freising. You should be able to buy the ticket on the bus, but you might have to have exact change. You can also buy it from an automat in the S-Bahn station or upstairs in the Munich Airport Center. If there is not an automat at the Reisezentrum, you might have to pay 2€ extra for personal service at the counter.
Remember, the Bayern-Ticket is only valid for travel that takes place after 9 AM on a workday. If you want to leave the airport before 9 AM, the bus fare to Freising Bahnhof is 2,60€ per adult.
Are you by yourself? If so, the Bayern-Ticket will cost you 22,-€, but the bus fare plus the regional ticket from Freising to Regensburg (18,60€) will be less, 21,20€, than the Bayern-Ticket and will not have the 9 AM restriction.

Thanks Lee. There will be two of us and we will arrive after 9 am so should be fine.
