We have stayed in the 7th arron. and are familiar with the area. This time we will be staying in the 11th near La Place de la Nation in the Hotel du Prince Eugene. Is this a good area? My mother will be traveling with us and she is concerned about safety. Near good restaurants and coffee shops?
No need to worry about safety in the Place de la Nation area. With my husband, with my adult children, with various friends, I have stayed there more times than I can remember. Tons of restaurants and cafes, wine shops, pharmacies, department stores (Monoprix and Printemps), grocery stores ... it is a real neighbourhood with hardly any tourists. Best street market in Paris on Saturday mornings on Cour de Vincennes. If you are arriving at CDG you can take the NO.351 bus into Paris, its route terminates at Pl. de la Nation, and it will only cost you 3 tickets per person which you can buy from the driver (if you have euros!!)
That is wonderful news - thank you so much for the detailed information:-)
