Our family of 4 is traveling from Madrid to the Costa del Sol area. What would be the fastest way to go? Air, train, or just rent a car? What is the airport in the Costa del Sol area that we would fly into? Our actual destination is Marbella.

If you just want to get there and relax, take the train. The AVE goes down to Cordoba and Sevilla, or take a Talgo.
If you have time and want to stop and explore, rent a car, go down to Cordoba, then over to Jaen, then Granada, then to the coast. I suppose you can fly to Malaga, or even Marbella, if you just want to get there immediately and stay.
