I want to take my husband to Normandy for our anniversary. He's a WWII nut and I'm a francophile. We'll be traveling with 2 small children. He can do the tours, visit sites, etc, and I'll be happy to just wander around villages with the kids. Where should we home base?

Definitely Bayeux for a base. And I highly recommend the Hotel D'Argouges. It's absolutely wonderful!

I think Bayeux would be best as a base. That way he'll be near the WW II sites & you'll be able to travel around Normandy as you wish.

Thanks for the advice, I think that would be great. I checked out some Bayeux links and it looks perfect.
