I am going to Europe for the first time and will be spending the entire time in Vienna. My dear friend who was to have come with me has just cancelled. Does anyone have recommendations for a good personal guide? I would also appreciate any comments wrt safety issues for a woman traveling alone in Vienna. I seem to remember seeing a guide mentioned here before, but I cannot find that info. Thanks so much!

There's a book written by Sydney Jones entitled "VIENNAWALKS" and is likely available at your public library. We suggest you read the book (which has ample street maps) and take yourself on self-guided tours of the various walks in that book.
