11 days in southern Germany

I will be arriving stuttgart in late may.I read of the replies and they are helpful. My wife and I normally go when we had one child then twins so we go separately when we can.we've been to heidelberg so this time I read where Schwabisch would be a nice place to see briefly then Tubingen, freigurg(side trip to st.peter to run to st.margen).Is Baden-Baden worth it?I would love to do a bath.Should I train it from here to lake constance or Lux city/Trier?I am flexible and open to all suggestions and will be alone w/o a car.should I go to Dinklesbuhl?Rothenberg?I'm not sure I want the big cities but plenty of walking/some hiking.

Dennis,

I suggest that you take a look at the region and decide on a town you would like to make your base. Then I can help you figure out exact travel arrangements.
For example, it would take about 2 hrs from Stuttgart to Kempten by train. About three to Pfronten.

I found a website in English which is a little easier to navigate than the one I sent in the previous post.

Dennis,
why not consider staying in the beautiful Allgäu region?
Plenty of spas, plenty of hiking and beautiful scenery, and conveniently located to take day trips to various other destinations?
Lake Constance is also nearby.

if you are a car guy you might consider visiting the mercedes museum in sindelfingen near stuttgart. very well laid out and ultra modern.

You mentioned going to St. Peter to run to St. Margen. I'm not quite sure what you mean by that. Is this an organized race? I spent 4 days in a farmhouse in St. Peter for a family reunion and even though I thought it was a cute little town there was really nothing to see there. Well, they do have a very nice church, but I wouldn't go there just for that. We had a car while there. I don't imagine it is an easy area to navigate by train or bus.

We drove by Lake Constance (Bodensee) on our way from the Black Forest to Bavaria. We stopped for lunch and to look around. I thought it was quite nice there and hope to go spend a few days there sometime.

Have fun!
