My husband and I are planning a 3 week driving holiday to Italy. We are taking the Eurotunnel to Calais and would like to travelling through Germany, "nip" through Austria / Switzerland and then travel through Italy to Positano before heading home. Never having taken this type of holiday before I would be very grateful for any suggested routes where we can see castles, beautiful scenery etc and also any tips for reasonably price accommodations. This is a duplicate posting with answers in Boot. It is generally easier only to keep one copy going - easier for both the helpers and the original Poster who doesn't have to juggle. The best answers come when threads develop and answers feed off each other, instead of being segregated from each other.
