hiking in Spain?

Hi there!
Still refining a trip to Barcelona at the end of May, and would love opinions/information about two options:

  1. Figueres/Cadaques - we would take the train from Barcelona to Figueres, see the Dali Museum and then continue on to Cadaques for a night or two. I'm less excited about this option than I am about:

  2. La Rioja - this is just a kernel of an idea, but I'm wondering if it's possible to take a train to Logrono and then spend a few days (2? 4?) walking the Way of St. James through Navarrete and Najera, where we'd take a train back to Barcelona. Has anyone done this? I love the idea of being out in the country, but have never planned anything like this before. Would this show us enough of the wine region, as well?

Thanks if you can! Happy trails to all!
:) Karen
