I am going to CDG airport in June to meet a friend of mine joining me in Paris. I will be staying in the 7th at Square de la Motte Picquet. I will take the bus to the airport to get her and we will return the same way. My concern is picking a meeting place at CDG. My friend has not done much traveling and has never been alone when arriving in a foreign city. She will be nervous and I want to make this as easy as possible for her. I really need to meet up with her at the first possible point. I suppose this would be baggage claim? Can anyone suggest another location? We will have texting capability so I can contact her, however, I want to be able to tell her in advance where to meet. Thank you!!
You can't get in to baggage claim. Meet her right as she comes out of the sterile/immigration section into the public area. Stand beside all the dudes with signs waiting to meet people. Wave, save the text.
I did this exact trip last year. I was arriving from JFK and my friend flew in from Scotland. Meeting just outside customs was the best for us too. All airlines filter out of the same spot, so you all leave the ariport from the same place. I took the bus to opera then a cab to my appartment. I also was in the 7th in vacations in paris unit #74. This appartment was great! I will acturally be reuring to paris this fall again!! If you need anything feel free to ask
I always try to find something called a "Meeting Point" at various international airports to avoid any confusion. Here's what the CDG website had to say.... http://paris-cdg.worldairportguides.com/other-services-facilities.php "The best place to meet passengers at Paris CDG is the information desks on the arrivals level of each terminal."
The official website http://www.aeroportsdeparis.fr/ADP/en-GB/Passagers/Home/ has plenty of terminal maps showing the services available. To wait any length time you will want to sit down so something like a cafe would seem useful. Print out appropriate maps to carry with you.
Thank you all for the wonderful information!
