Local Guides

Do you have a copy of RS Germany Guide Book yet? If so, great. If not, I would suggest you get one as it will be a great asset in your planning efforts. My copy is not with me where I am staying or I would look in it to see if RS recommends any local guides. Maybe someone else can pick that up.

Ellen, What are you planning to use the Guides for? I'm not sure about the Rhineland, but if you want a Guide in Berlin for personal tours, you might contact Original Berlin Walks. They offer both group tours and private tours. Click on the "Private Tours" tab on the website for further information. Their Guides are outstanding, and I don't think you'd be disappointed. Rick does list some of the guides and tour companies in Berlin and the Rhine area, but certainly not all of them. If you are looking for a private guide, you might want to check the companies listed on Trip Advisor, so you can read their current reviews, check their prices, and read their websites. All of the tour companies can offer you private guides. For a private guide for Berlin, I believe, "Jeremy, the Berlin Expert" is probably the highest rated. "Insider Tours" and "Original Berlin Walks" are both highly rated tours, and I doubt you will find a whole lot of difference between them as they both use quality guides who really know their stuff.
