We'll be taking the Glacier Express from Zermatt to Chur, which is acting as a stopover after the long ride. Then we are taking the Bernina Express to Pontresina the next day. Any accomodation suggestion for approx. 120CHF? I suppose we'd want it to be close to the train station. Any suggestions on what to see and do during our short time there would be great. Thank you.

Good luck getting a hotel in Chur for $120, We stayed at the ABC Quality Hotel which is just a few minutes walk from the station. From memory, cost was about 148 swiss francs for the night, including breakfast. Chur is a lovely old town we spent serveral hours just taking in the sights after arriving early afternoon.

craig, I'd highly recommend Hotel Freieck in Chur. The rooms are very comfortable, the staff are great and they serve a good substantial breakfast. They have rooms advertised at €100 - 150 or CHF 150 - 200. The hotel is walkable from the station but with luggage I'd suggest using a Taxi. With such a short visit, I'm not sure you'll have time to "do" much except explore the town. One other point to mention. I found that the staff in some of the restaurants near the hotel were not able to speak ANY English, so I had a bit of difficulty ordering supper on my first night. My German skills are VERY limited, but I eventually figured out that the Server was able to function in Italian, so used that for the evening. I'm not fluent but can "manage" in Italian to some extent. Happy travels!
