My husand and I are taking out kids (ages 9 and 12) to Scotland and Northern England in June. We will be flying out of Manchester on our way home. We were planning on staying in York the last part of our trip and dropping off the rental car there. We want to take the train from York to Manchester and would like to find a hotel for the night near the train station and/or the airport. How far is the station from the airport? Any recommendations on where to stay? Nothing fancy, just a place to lay our heads before heading out early the next morning.
