Winter Wonderland fair in Londons Hyde Park

Just letting everyone know about the Winter Wonderland faire in Hyde Park that is going on through to January.

Free admission!

I was in London a few weeks ago and I attended the fair and it was really fun. Lots of food and live music, ice skating, visits to Santa, and many booths selling handcrafted items, wooden toys, jewelry, handbags, clothing and souvenirs. I think there were at least 30-40 vendors.

Also, they have roller coasters, giant slides and other rides for young and old. It has a German theme so they were selling brats, beer, etc as well as stands with candyfloss (cotton candy), cookies, roasted nuts, waffles and crepes.

It was interesting to see how similar yet different that events like this are, across the pond. It was also fun getting away from the insane crowds on Oxford street and most other touristy areas.

It is open from 10 am to 10 pm every day, sunday included. I think it runs until the first week of january. There is a website online.

Directions: Get off the tube at Hyde Park corner and walk towards the park and you cant miss the festivities!

We went to it last year and plan on a revisit next week when we arrive there. It's wonderful!

Yes, it was really fun. I posted this so that maybe especially if people are going to London with children it would be a nice break from sightseeing!

But of course, fun for anyone, as I enjoyed it!
