Is it possible to go to both Windsor & Stonehenge in one day without taking a tour?
There are 6 of us - and tours are too expensive, plus with children we may need more flexibility than a large tour affords.
If yes - how do we do it?
Thanks very much to all.

Its possible if you just like to go someplace to say "went there"...otherwise, there is so much to see in just Windsor alone that it wouldnt do either place justice to do a whirlwind one day drive-through tour.
I would suggest you do Windsor either a half day or even a whole day and then go to Stonehenge another day. You could go to Salisbury by train leaving from Waterloo Station then you can get the The Stonehenge Tour (open-top buses) they leave once or twice an hour tickets are £11.00. The Salisbury City Guides offers tours, departing from the tourist office every day the cost is £3.50....salisburycityguides.co.uk......thestonehengetour.info......
Thank you very much - that sounds like a very good plan.
