We are arriving in London on Saturday May 18 and have 2 days to kill before heading to Bath on Monday May 20. Do you recommend any hotels or BNBs near Windsor Castle? Or could you recommend other trips between London and Bath rather than Windsor Castle? We will have a whole week in London the following week so anyplace West of London would be great. Thanks!!!

Yes, in Windsor! We stayed at the B& B Frances Lodge which is a few blocks from Windsor Castle, on Frances Road.Very nice modern rooms and a great breakfast. Our double was £90. The local bus from Heathrow ( I,ll have to check the number, might be 92) stops right across the street. And there are nice restaurants and pubs down closer to the river. We would happily return to this place.

We have stayed several times at the Hotel Clarence, just off Peascod St, I think on Clarence Rd. It's a family owned small hotel with a nice breakfast room, a pretty garden, and a small resident's bar. Budget prices. A good pub in Windsor is The Two Brewers, just at the entrance to The Long Walk of Windsor Great Park. Their Sunday roast is spectacular. For a splurge meal (at least it was for us) eat at The House on the Bridge, excellent food and service. Sit outside and enjoy being on the river. There are some great walks in the park, and you can also walk The Thames path in either direction.
