I am planning a trip next yr to this event and any info on where to stay and ticket purchasing for the tournament would be appreciated. I am thinking of going for 2-3 rounds.

Wimbledon sells tickets through a lottery by mail system. check wimbledon's website for ticket information. otherwise, you can queue up eeeeeeeearrrrrrrrlyyyyyyyy in the morning on the day you want to go for tickets or grounds passes. It's harder to get tickets for Wimbledon in advance than it is for, say, the US Open.
