My wife and I are visiting London this summer at the start of Wimbledon. We are looking for any advice about the queue process at Wimbledon for day of event tickets. We are interested in the experience of Wimbledon more so than expensive match seats. Thanks!
I got into the first week fairly easily. We arrived a little later than opening time, so by then the queue had dwindled to virtually non-existant. The matches on the outsdie courts are easy to get to watch (almost like our home tennis club). Just before we were due to leave people coming off centre court gave us their tickets so we were able to stand at the back of centre court for most of the last match. Maybe you will be lucky too Fun experience. Go for it
Thanks Brian. We'll also be going the first week. What time would you suggest to arrive at?
You can also get last minute tickets via Ticketmaster UK. Each evening about a few hundred tickets are available via the website. Only catch is that you will need access to a printer for the e-tickets.

I went to opening day at Wimbledon last year and got in line about 7:30 a.m. passing the time delightfully with the locals. Their system of keeping people in line is completely organized. The lines are clearly delineated and officials gave us the number we were in the line (I was the 5,373rd person) so that no one could save spots or crowd, which was very much appreciated. Easily the first 6000+ got in. Doors opened at 10:30 and we were in by 12:00. I believe the cost was 20 pounds. Find a seat immediately at one of the outer courts if you can. If you leave your seat for any reason, you'll have to que up outside that court to get in again. Or you can find a spot on Henman Hill and watch the big screen. When people in the show courts leave, they donate their tickets. You can stand in line at 3:00, I think, (find out where the line is and who's playing) and you can buy their tickets for Centre Court, Court 1, or Court 2 for only 5 pounds! Try the English summer drink, Pimms, very refreshing. Cheers!
Thanks Max for the wealth of information. We're looking forward to the experience of Wimbledon.
