My wife and I are looking to rent a cottage in North Wales this summer. We want to "take it slow" but also have access to hiking and other outdoor activities. We'd also like to be somewhat near some small villages. Does anyone have recommendations about which village or area to be near?
I have to second Bewts-Y-Coed. It is lovely. There is a B&B called the Fairview. Their meals are marvelous!!!!!
We loved the town of Betwys-y-Coed and found a great B&B on Smoothhound and they may offer cottages also. This little town has several good restaurants and lots of hiking options nearby. Wales is quite the underated place--we absolutely loved it and want to bo back. The scenery was gorgeous and it was much easier driving than in England.
I'll second Kent's suggestion of Conwy. It's an ideal location with good transport links, lots to see and do and a really great example of an Edwardian castle from Plantagenet times.
Correction to my previous post-- the B&B is the FairHaven!
