Hi, Amy and I are looking for a place to stay in Kenmare for one night this April. We will be driving from Dingle to Kenmare and then on to Kinsale for two nights. We are considering the Limestone Lodge or perhaps Virginia's Guesthouse (tho I am a little hesitant to stay there because of the Wine Bar below...i.e. noise). Does anyone have any suggestions for a place to stay in Kenmare.
Thanks Tim. We have been actually looking at this B & B. It's nice to hear from someone who has stayed there. Andy
We really liked Tahila Cove. It's about eight miles outside of Kenmare. Sometimes they serve dinner or you can go to the pub in Sneem. Tahila Cove is right on the edge of the bay.
I highly recommend the Watersedge B&B.
My wife and I are both 60ish - not big late night partyers. We stayed at Virginia's Guesthouse on a Saturday night on the 2nd floor (in the US) and never noticed any noise problem. Very nice people, wonderful place, cool little town, lots of restaurants/bars nearby. PS, we were on our way from kinsale to Dingle.
Hey Will...thanks for the your thoughts on Virginia's. It looks wonderful. I will look in this.
Andy
Dear Amy, I just had to second the recommendation for Virginia's in Kenmare. I"ve stayed their twice; each time for a week. Neil and Noreen are delightful hosts and always made me feel extremely welcome. Kenmare is a special place and has lots of hidden gems. Let me know if you need any advice on what to see and do in my favorite little town. Enjoy your visit to Ireland.

Carriglea was very nice, on a quiet street and only about 5 blocks from the castle and the restaurants.
We just stayed at Virginia's last week. One of the best B&B's we've stayed in. No noise from wine bar, a little traffic noise on street side in the morning. You might ask for a room on the opposite side. Great Food! Wonderful Host and Hostess! Dan
