I have just moved to London from California, and would like to stay in Wales for the Christmas holiday in a cozy cottage or B&B. I am thinking of Southern Wales, but am not sure where to start! Caerphilly near Cardiff has a Christmas Market and several events. Could be a good smaller location near a bigger cities activities. Check Google.

Pembroke. If you take the southern lid off the can, make it Porthmadog, Philheli, Harlech or Betwys-y-Coed in ascending order.

Caerphilly would be nice, plus it is a short train ride into Cardiff and has good access to the Brecon Beacons park (including the town of Brecon). PM for more info on the area.
