Where to stay at Heathrow?

Our flight back to the US leaves at 9am so we need to be at the airport by 6am. We've decided to stay close to the airport the night before. I'm having a hard time finding a hotel with easy access to Terminal 4 except for the Hilton, of course, which is totally out of my price range. From what I've read, it seems awfully complicated to get to Terminal 4. Any suggestions on where to stay and how to get to Terminal 4? Thank you!

Why not try inside Heathrow. Take a look at Yotel (www.yotel.com). It's actually inside terminal 4. We've stayed there. It's a hoot. Really small but well thought out. Very clean. They charge by the hour. Nice restaurants up one level. We had time to get up early and have breakfast before we had to get to Terminal 1. The stay cost us about 80E. Free internet.

Thank you! For some reason I thought the Hotel Hoppa didn't stop at terminal 4.

Re Yotel at Heathrow: I agree with Larry. We stayed there the night before an early AM departure to the US. It was great. They even offer a light breakfast service. In our case we only needed to go upstairs and check in for our flight. I think it's in terminal 4. Double check at their website. We found it in RS guidebook.

<<Thank you! For some reason I thought the Hotel Hoppa didn't stop at terminal >> They extended last year most of the Hoppa Buses that served T5 to serve T4 as well. For a full list of Hoppa Bus hotels/terminals covered and first last buses see: http://www.londontoolkit.com/lhr/hotel_hoppa_bus.htm Regards the hotels mentioned above, The Yotel is fine nad convenient in T4 but for an overnight is more expensive at the moment than some of the budget hotels that have 'proper' bedrooms. The Jurys Inn is the nearest 'proper' hotel to T4 after the expensive Hilton. Its a good hotel, if a little isolated so you depend on the hotel for food, drink etc. They've put their rates up a lot this year and downgraded the Hoppa service so its not the bargain it was. Last time I was there, for 2 people or more the Hoppa Bus ws no cheaper than getting a local taxi to T4. Besides the Hoppa Buses there is also the 555 bus that goes between the north side of the airport along the main hotel strip and T4 and is free. The bus goes past the Ibis which is one of the best value hotels at the moment, (equivalent of $50-$80) at about 04:40 and 05:40 for the 10 minute journey to T4. Saves you the fare of the Hoppa Bus anyway.
Other benefit over places like Yotel and Jurys Inn is you can escape the prices of the hotel food etc to the McDonald's and pubs nearby, there is even a bowling alley.

For more information on the Ibis Hotel, go here. Another good budget choice would be the Heathrow Lodge. It offers free transfer service to all the terminals.

I always stay at the TravelLodge. Cheap and comfortable and you can catch a Hoppa.

I'd also vote for the Jurys Inn. Very clean & comfortable. Amazingly silent even though it is virtually under a flight path. Incredible how they managed that feat of quiet. Seems like the rates were especially low on weekend nights.
