We will be in Ireland and are trying to decide where is the best place to celebrate St. Patricks Day. We were thinking either Galway or Cork or any other recommended place. We would prefer not Dublin as we are going to be in that area at the end of our trip. Thanks
the whole island is a party, some more wilder than others.
Ok, but if you had 3 college age kids and their mother, where would you recommend or at least give a couple of suggestions and why. Thanks
Karla, your question is much too open ended to be answerable. As the previous poster said, every city and town have their own celebrations. It's hard to give opinions as to which is better than which, particularly since you haven't narrowed anything down -- when you arrive, where you will have already gone, what you want to do, etc.
Though I've never been in Ireland on St Patricks Day I would think a medium size town like Galway, Killarney or Kilkinny instead of a larger one like Dulbin. Big enough that there will be local celebrations but not too big where it is overrun with tourists.
Galway has great music. I would vote for Galway.
