I'm referring to the one with the boats docked on the quay. In my mind, I seem to recall it is in Copenhagen (hence, I'm posting this question in the "To the North" section). If it is in Copenhagen, where exactly? I'm headed there next weekend...
Tom, Are you referrring to the photo taken at night, with boats in the foreground and buildings in the background? If so, that appears to be Hyhavn area. I'm sure Ron In Rome will be able to confirm that. Have a look at This Short Video. There appears to be a brief glimpse of that area at the start of the video. The photos on This Website also provide some good views of that area. Although I haven't been to Copenhagen yet, I've been researching it for a future trip, so this is my "best guess". Happy travels!
It is Nyhavn in Copenhagen. Here is a picture which is almost similar, taken at the same angle with some of the same buildings: http://www.allposters.co.uk/-sp/Yachts-Moored-in-Front-of-Cafes-at-Nyhavn-Copenhagen-Denmark-Posters_i2499322_.htm
Thanks. BTW, since its kind of hard to judge distances on a map... About how long would it take to walk or ride a bike from Ørstedsparken to Nyhavn? I'm asking to get an idea how compact the city center is or isn't.... and because I wanted an excuse to use the "Ø" character.
It's about the same distance as it is from Tivoli to Nyhaven - - less than a mile and a half.
Once again, thanks for the tips. I ended up eating dinner in Nyhavn tonight, at one of the outdoor restaurants. It's almost too cold for that right now, but what a great place for people-watching! And I'm guessing Copenhagen has no open container law...
