My husband are staying one night in Birmingham in order to break up a long train ride. We will have most of one day (11:00am on)there. Any suggesstions?
Birmingham isn't the most picturesque of place but it has a certain industrial charm.
It has many fine museums. A visit to the jewellery quarter can unearth some bargains as can a shopping trip to the Bull Ring shopping centre. An evening meal at one of Birmingham's famouse Indian restaurants is a must. Most of all you'll have fun trying to understand the slightly strange accents. Brummies ( as the local inhabitants are known ) are the salt of the earth and very friendly.
