What area of London to stay for 3 nights late June?

We are searching the apartment websites and do not know which area of London is best to stay in. Most important to us is safety. Easy access to public transportation also important. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I've stayed in the Belgrave/Pimlico area and I think it meets both your requirements. It is close to Victoria Station and is very pretty, upscale kind of area with nice shops and restaurants around. There are a number of BnBs and hotels in that area so it may have apartments as well, but you would have to look. =Tod

South Kensington, Chelsea and Bayswater are great. Have stayed in all of them.

I'm a fan of Bloomsbury. Close to the British museum, but only about a 15 min walk to Trafalgar Square, it's the university area with many students. Lots of restaurants, pubs, a large grocery store. Also a direct underground ride from Heathrow to the Holborn station, about an hour.

And I am a fan of Marylebone! We always stay at a cute little hotel about 4 blocks from the Baker Street tube stop. Safe as houses, nice neighborhood with pubs and shops and all the services you would ever need. Lots of London is safe. Lots of London is close to public transportation. It's a great city. Do you have a price range in mind?

Each of those locations are wonderful - you need to just pick a location that suits your needs. I would take a look at your transportation options. S. Kensington has both Piccadilly and District lines. Belgravia is close to Victoria and that has multiple options as well.

Thank you everyone for your suggestions. I have found a nice apt. through Rick Steve's recommended site cross-pollinate.com in the Pimlico area close to Victoria Station. We are looking very forward to our trip.
