Hi, Westport is a really nice town. Most of the activities are outdoor related if you like biking and hiking it's fabulous. They have the greenway which is an old railroad line that had been converted to a bike path. You can rent bikes and have the tour company drop you at Achill Island and cycle back. It's mainly flat and amazing. There's also Crough (sp?) Patrick to hike up. The town has lots of restaurants and pubs but it is a bit out of the way so depends on your time frame. Enjoy your trip! I was there about a month ago, and it was a great small town. Very beautiful, a ton of restaurant options, and the pub called Matt Malloy's is perfect. Wonerful trad music and interesting locals. I stayed at the Boulevard House - Angela was the person running it and she was great with tons of ideas of places to go and to see. She warned me it may be difficult to leave Matt Malloy's once you get in, and she was right. I had a GREAT time. I was there for 2 days and used it as a base for driving to other parts to look around.

We were in Westport recently and agree that it is a nice town. For your spa experience you might consider Ashford Castle hotel near Cong-probably very pricey-I think there is an ad on TV where Diane Keaton stayed there.

Hi Jami...The Castlecourt Hotel and The Plaza have spas and they are located about a block from The Boulevard Guesthouse. Also close by Knockranny and Hotel Westport and further out of town (3/4 mile) in The Quay there is The Atlantic Carlton. All are open in November. There is a place in Leenane that does a seaweed spa you might want to check out. http://www.connemaraseaweedbaths.com/massage-and-beauty-treatments
Never tried it but it looks nice.
