I will be traveling to London the first week in March. On average, what is the weather (more specifically temperature) like? I'm originally from New England and so am used to cold, damp winters. I'd like not to have to bring a ski parka type coat if I can avoid it! I'm expecting rain, just not sure about the temp. Has this been a colder or warmer year than normal?
Hi David,
I have lived in the UK for the last 10 years. The weather is so unpredictable- for example, yesterday it was sunny and warm, today it's rainy and cold. The best advice I can give you is to bring clothing that you can layer, and bring gloves and a scarf. And yes, expect some rain!
Have a great trip!
David
The averages for London in March are here

As you get nearer to leaving you can pick up the ten day forecast from the same site.
Given all that English weather is really changeable, and bringing stuff you can layer is the best advice.

Hi David,
I agree with the others. I lived in London and the weather is unpredictable (although it rarely is below freezing). A good option is a raincoat with a zip out lining. Then also bring a wool sweater or fleece jacket. You can always layer the sweater with the coat if it is really cold.
