Anyone know what the weather in London is like from the end of October through the beginning of December. Some have told me it is a lot like Oregon, USA.
Like Western Oregon maybe. A lot of rain, cold but rarely freezing.
Thanks, that's what I thought. I live in western Oregon. It is a lot of rain, and chilly!
We love to go to the UK in late Nov/early Dec. We haven't found it too wet or too cold (most of the time). I'm from Charlotte NC and found the weather similar to what I am used to- just a bit windy. i do take gloves and either a hooded knit scarf or a hooded water-reisitant coat. I wear layers because the mornings and late evenings can be chilly, but the day time may be almost warm. I wear cotton blend pants, a long-sleeved T, a cotton blend "big shirt" and the coat. When I check the long range weather forcast a day or 2 before leaving, I decide if I take a sweater also.
I think most people are pretty spot on. Very much a northwestern type climate. Expect variable weather with a lot of cooler/cloudy weather. Think around 45 F
Being from Seattle, we were very comfortable there in late September. It rained two days out of 10 for us, which is pretty lucky! I only needed the rain coat one day, and that was for about an hour only.
I highly recommend a rain coat with a hood and a zip out lining. Hood is extremely practical when you are out and about and get caught in the rain without your umbrella.
Weather is quite variable in the fall.
