I'll be in central London for Chelsea's last game of the season against Everton. There are 4 of us so getting tickets is impossible. Any recommendations on a pub to watch the game
Most all pubs in London will be showing it. The big match today is of course the FA Cup final Man city v Wigan. It will be shown live in the US at 12pm ET on Fox (not Fox soccer, the network channel).
Great, thanks
Go Blue
I'd recommend Brogan's Irish Pub (http://www.brogansfulham.co.uk/) - it's 3 or 4 blocks from Stamford Bridge, right by the Fulham Broadway tube stop. Since it's so close to the Bridge it gets lots of ticketless supporters in for matches, which is a lot of fun! They have the full Sky Sports package and can show ESPN and Sky at the same time, so they're all hooked up. They have good fish 'n' chips, too.
Is that blue for Everton (the Toffees) or blue for Chelsea? If Everton, I can tell you where their (more respectable?) fans will be congregating before the match.
Russell - Go Blues!!!!!!! Chelsea, that is. Linda - eek! Is football hooliganism erupting here on the sedate Rick Steves site? ;-)
Sorry, but that would be Chelsea :-) (fyi, Everton are a great club, pity about the coach)
Russell, I'm a huge Chelsea fan - been so since my first game in '96. At any rate, check out this site: http://www.guardiantickets.co.uk/football-tickets/. The Guardian is a reputable publication and I have had many friends use this for tickets. Don't watch it in a pub - watch it at The Bridge! KTBFFH!!!
