Wales to Dublin

We are doing a home exchange in August in a small village near Bath. As part of our travels, we are planning to travel to Northern Wales and then take the ferry from Holyhead to Dublin for a couple of days. As we've never been to Dublin, any suggestions on where to stay? I'm looking for areas of town and prefer B&Bs if possible. I'm fairly able when it comes to internet research but would appreciate input from others who have been there. Thanks.

We stayed at the Harding Hotel which is right across the street from Christ Church Cathedral. If you're there at the right time, you'll get a great church bell recital (either the practice or for real). I can assure you you won't miss it. My wife and I enjoyed it. It was a nice, economical place to stay close in. The Temple Bar was maybe a 1 minute walk away. What I found is that most of the B&Bs are located (not surprisingly) outside the city center. If you stay at one make sure you see how far you have to go to get into the major attractions and where the buses run. That's not a big deal but you should be aware of this when you book.
