How should we maximize our travel by rental car from the Cotswolds, to see the best in four days in Wales?
Not a full reply; but from the Cotswolds, be sure to do Symonds Yat (view over some oxbow bends on the river) ; and my favorite spot- Tintern Abbey, a very special place and feeling. From there you should go North where all the scenery is. Maybe end up in Chester across in England. Skip Cardiff or any of the big cities- thats not true Wales
I love northern Wales... Llanberis, Conwy, Caernarfon, Beaumaris... absolutely lovely, wonderful people, and delicious food and drink.
We did a similar trip in reverse. Started with Bath (stopping by Avebury & Lacock Abbey) and after staying one night there headed to Tintern Abbey, next to Brecons area, Caenarvon, and then three nights in Betws-y-coed. From this part of Wales you can visit Bodnant Gardens, Conwy, Snowdonia, etc. As we left Wales and headed to the Cotswolds we stopped by Powis Castle in Wales and Stokesay Castle near Ludlow. Have a great trip!
Chepstow, Caerphilly, CARDIFF, Carmarthen, Castell Henllys, Harlech, PORTHMADOG, Caernarfon, Conwy, BETWS-Y-COED. That gets most of the good castles, a good hill fort example, the best towns, and Snowdonia. Spend the night in places with caps. Spend two in Cardiff, take the harbor tour, go to the national museum, skip the castle.
This is the sixth post resurrected from last August that Wes of Deer Park has seen fit to bring back to life, for no apparent reason. Wes, what's up?
